Welcome to Lukalah Farm....
Lukalah farm was started in the summer of 2007. The name comes from mixing my Grandchildrens names together.
We started out with chickens and progressed to dairy goats.
We are located in a small valley off of the willamette valley near Eugene Oregon.
Our goats supply our family with milk and cheese. We also make goat milk soap, yogurt, ice cream and sometimes fudge.
We have gotten into showing our goats and have won some Grand Champion placements and have finished champion status.
We have wildlife here which consists mostly of wild rabbits, wild Turkeys, raccoons, opossums, porcupine, deer, an occasional cougar, bear, coyote, fox, lots of birds including owls and several pairs of those chicken eating Red Tailed Hawks! We do have one pair of Bald Eagle in this small valley.
Our livestock is protected by large Guarding dogs that roam inside the property line.
You can see the various colors and patterns Nigerian Dwarves come in at "Nigerian Dwarf Goat: Patterns & Colors."
Our Goals
To have healthy, happy children and goats. To produce nutritious milk for our family. Always striving for correct conformation and milk production. Nigerian Dwarves are still new to ADGA compared to the other dairy breeds. When we breed our goats we always look for ways to improve the breed/herd in milk production and conformation. We participate in Linear Appraisal and make it to some ADGA shows each year in order to give us an idea on how we are improving and areas that still need more work. Allthough we do not breed for coat, eye color or polled traits we are interested in working on improving the conformation and milk production in our Polled genetic line that we have here on our farm. Our family is looking forward to sharing our knowledge and fun with others as we gain it. We want to remain friendly and approachable at shows and fairs, so feel free to come talk to us if you see us out there.
